RJ Mercer

SINGER/SONGWRITER

Raised in the ranchlands of Eastern Montana and now based in Seattle, RJ Mercer is a country and Americana singer-songwriter whose music carries the old-world soul and wide-open spirit of the American West. Raised in a farming and ranching family, Mercer spent much of his youth and early adulthood working the land alongside his family—a life measured by branding, haying, harvest, hours on a tractor, and the weather. Those experiences didn't just shape the man; they became the landscapes, characters, and quiet moments that continue to find their way into his songs.

Mercer is the founder and frontman of the Seattle Americana band Fallen Oaks, where thoughtful songwriting meets rich harmonies and a deep respect for the sounds of classic country, bluegrass, and folk. The band's debut album, Lost That Sound, was recorded live to analog tape with producer Nich Wilbur, capturing the warmth and spontaneity that have become hallmarks of Mercer's music.

As a solo performer, Mercer blends his original songs with timeless country and Americana favorites, creating an acoustic show that feels both familiar and personal. Whether playing a historic saloon, mountain lodge, neighborhood tavern, or intimate listening room, his performances invite audiences into songs that are as comfortable around a campfire as they are on a stage.
